Intel Parallel Composer is a comprehensive set of Intel C++ compilers, libraries, and debugging capabilities for developers bringing parallelism to their Windows*-based client applications. It integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio* 2005 and 2008, is compatible with Microsoft Visual C++*, and supports the way developers work, protecting IDE investments while delivering an unprecedented breadth of parallelism development capabilities, including parallel debugging. Intel Parallel Composer is a stand-alone product or can be purchased as part of Intel Parallel Studio, which includes Intel Parallel Inspector to analyze threading and memory errors, and Intel Parallel Amplifier for performance analysis of parallel applications.

A PC based on an IA-32 or Intel® 64 architecture processor supporting the Intel® Streaming SIMD Extensions 2 (Intel® SSE2) instructions (Intel® Pentium 4 processor or later, or compatible non-Intel processor) - for the best experience, a multi-core or multi-processor system is recommended
o 1GB RAM
o 3GB free disk space for all product features and all architectures
o Microsoft Windows XP*, Microsoft Windows Vista*, Microsoft Windows 7*, Microsoft
Windows Server 2003* or Microsoft Windows Server 2008* (embedded editions not
supported)
o When installed on Microsoft Windows Server:
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2008* Standard Edition (or higher edition) SP1 with C++
and “x64 Compiler and Tools” components installed [1]
When installed on Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows Server 2003, one
of:
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2008* Standard Edition (or higher edition) with C++ and
“x64 Compiler and Tools” components installed [1]
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2005* Standard Edition (or higher edition) with C++ and
“x64 Compiler and Tools” components installed [1]
Notes:
1. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 Standard Edition installs the “x64 Compiler and
Tools” component by default – the Professional and higher editions require a “Custom”
install to select this.
2. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010* is not supported in this release.
3. Applications can be run on the same Windows versions as specified above for
development. Applications may also run on non-embedded 32-bit versions of Microsoft
Windows earlier than Windows XP, though Intel does not test these for compatibility.
Your application may depend on a Win32 API routine not present in older versions of
Windows. You are responsible for testing application compatibility. You may need to
copy certain run-time DLLs onto the target system to run your application.
